High-Protein Skin-Friendly Danish Recipe
Traditional Danishes have around 36 grams of sugar. This healthy and delicious high-protein Danish only has 17 grams, and the best part its from raw honey!
Refined and processed sugar can cause inflammation and is not good for the skin. Excessive sugar intake can lead to skin aging and even breakouts.
On the other hand, natural sources like honey, when enjoyed in moderation, can be a very healthy alternative and much more gut-healthy.
Not to mention, this recipe has about 23 grams of protein per Danish. So that's half the sugar and three times the protein of a traditional Danish.

For the Dough
- 300g Armenian Style Cottage Cheese
- 1 Whole Egg and One Egg WhiteÂ
- 3 Tbsp HoneyÂ
- 1 Tsp Vanilla ExtractÂ
- 1 Pinch of SaltÂ
- ½ Tsp Baking PowderÂ
- 110-120g Flour (if your cottage cheese is very dry, only use 110g of flour)
For the FillingÂ
- 150g Greek YogurtÂ
- 1 Egg YolkÂ
- 1 Tbsp Honey
In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients for the dough and, using a fork, mash everything together until you get your desired consistency. Split the dough into two equal parts and roll into a ball.
Place dough balls on a baking sheet and, using a spoon, make a small pocket for the filling. For the filling, mix all ingredients in a bowl and spoon into the pockets you made in the dough. Top with your favorite fresh or frozen berries.
Bake at 375 for 20-22 minutes and enjoy once cool!
